We were pleasantly surprised by the secluded and peaceful location of the hotel, nestled deep in the Matheran jungles. The forested surroundings created a serene atmosphere that allowed us to truly unwind and relax. The staff at Dune Barr House - Verandah In The Forest were friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome throughout our stay. The food served was delicious and exceeded our expectations, leaving us satisfied and content. The architecture of the hotel, reminiscent of old colonial era forest rest houses, added to the charm and provided a unique experience. We also enjoyed the opportunity for bird-sighting in the area. Despite some minor inconveniences such as difficulty finding the hotel and language challenges with food orders, the overall experience was wonderful and definitely worth the trip. We would recommend Dune Barr House - Verandah In The Forest to others in search of a tranquil and memorable stay. we were very pleased with our visit.

Tucked away from the bustling tourist crowds, this serene heritage property sat amidst lush greenery and welcomed us with antique furnishings, gorgeous views and friendly staff. Our spacious rooms with high roofs and antique furniture offered picturesque windows opening directly into the forest. the home-cooked food was super tasty, particularly the desserts. We enjoyed plenty of games and pleasant walks to sign off a wonderful family getaway.
The lack of air conditioning, but the two windows opened, allowing some natural air flow into the room.

Nestled in a serene environment, this colonial bungalow is an ideal place for recharging your batteries. the fresh air and the calming atmosphere make it a perfect spot for unwinding. the food offered was delicious and freshly prepared, plus the staff was hospitable and welcoming. the location was ideal, with a nearby lake, making it easy for a quick dip.
The rooms were a bit on the smaller side and quite outdated, with old and uneven furniture. the limited menu and high prices make it less budget-friendly, but the food tasted great.
